In the hillside area of Santiago de Cali we appreciate forms of occupation and landscape
development that are different to those of the formal city. Those are sectors that over time
have developed condition of vulnerability and deterioration of the landscape of the tutelary
hills, which along with the characteristics of the ground and the improper settlements in theprotection strips of rivers and streams, presents events of disaster that carry with them
human lives, yet their social, cultural, physical and perceptual wealth is a potential waiting
to be exploited.

The model of intervention is formulated from the study of the occupation of the informal
city, first achieving an identity and above all a direct relationship between function and
territory, the proposed guidelines for the advancement of projects, then respond to the three stages of this model: appropriation, adaptation and association, thus ensuring that the inhabitants won’t lose their sense of belonging, always striving for harmony between
community, sustainability, natural environment and aerial landscape, in complement to the
connectivity generated from the implementation of the airline of the massive transport
system.
The occupation to be carried out in the area to be impacted, will have as a main element the people, the implementation of projects will correspond to the stages described, starting
from a development in community, which also have as main objective the creation of a
sustainable landscape so that the impacts generated in the territory are positive and
consistent with the needs of the population that lives there.
